Project background
Urban stormwater management efforts seek to prevent, minimize, and mitigate the impacts of runoff. To accomplish that, practitioners, professionals, and policymakers turn to practices, stormwater control measures (SCMs,) and a variety of management and policy approaches. These efforts rely on research that monitors, evaluates, assess, tests, compares, and gathers evidence to support their use. In addition, research can discover new and innovative practices and approaches. This project revises previously established research needs and priorities and identifies new opportunities. Understanding those will help shape the research program in future years, help maintain a research program that addresses the most critical information needs, and supports accountability for the public and private funds we invest. This project seeks input from those that work in urban stormwater management, including practitioners, professionals, policymakers, architects, landscapers, owners and operators of stormwater practices, designers, installers, inspectors, and many others. Prior to obtaining your input, you are encouraged to review the resources available on this webpage.
