Clean Sweep Training Webinars

You are invited to join us for a series of training webinars through the Clean Sweep Program which aims to provide you with the tools, training, and resources you need to develop or enhance a street sweeping program for water quality. Join the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and the University of Minnesota Water Resources Center on November 19th for one or more of the following webinar sessions:

  • 10:00am - 10:25am:  Why Sweep for Water Quality?
    This session will highlight the multiple benefits of targeted sweeping, and provide you with tools, resources and strategies to help you communicate these benefits to your organization, partners, funders, local decisionmakers, and the general public.
  • 10:30am - 10:55am:  Developing an Enhanced Street Sweeping Plan
    This session will walk you through the steps of developing an enhanced street sweeping plan that helps make strides towards achieving your water quality goals, including methods of estimating tree canopy cover and simple time and cost estimating tools.
  • 11:00am - 11:25am:  How to Use the Quick Estimating Tool (QET)
    This session will focus on how to use the updated Quick Estimating Tool (2025) which was created to provide a comprehensive, customized option for estimating the amount of total solids removed, an estimated phosphorus credit, annual program costs, and estimated number of working days for different enhanced street sweeping scenarios.
  • 11:30am - 12:00pm:  Case Studies from Cities & Watershed Districts
    This session will highlight several different enhanced street sweeping programs that have been successfully implemented in Minnesota followed by Q&A.
