Lower St. Croix Watershed education, outreach, technical assistance, networking, and conservation planning.

Jennifer grew up on a dairy farm in Minnesota that now runs corn and soybeans. She has been assessing resource concerns and providing conservation planning since 2005 and received her BS in Environmental Science minoring in Soil and Water Science. Jennifer has provided soil and soil health technical support with the NRCS in Minnesota completing site evaluations, soil health testing, and providing technical services and outreach to staff and producers. She also spent time analyzing profitability of conservation practices to help producers increase their ROI, and created the Minnesota Soil Health Coalition, a 501(3)C farmer led organization. Jennifer values the scientific data but really enjoys learning from farmers and making connections to progress everyone’s understanding.

Jennifer is the Extension Educator for the Lower St. Croix Watershed Partnership providing outreach, education, technical expertise, conservation planning, and networking for agricultural lands within the watershed.

When attending college, I knew I wanted to learn about conservation and agronomy but wasn’t sure where my focus would be until I took my first soils class, I fell in love and have been obsessed ever since. I’m very interested in the applied science of soil health and working with producers to meet their objectives and increase the quality of their soil under agricultural production. I am happy to be living and working where I was raised and within the Lower St. Croix Watershed.
