Large Lakes Observatory

LiMNology is the university's educational initiative in limnology.

Limnological Research Center pursues a mission of interdisciplinary research in lakes with the goal of reconstructing continental paleorecords of regional and global environmental change. Their web site contains a bibliography and summaries of research projects.

St. Anthony Falls Laboratory is a teaching and research facility focused on experimental fluid mechanics. The web site contains information on research projects, publications, and software.

The Minnesota Geological Survey is a unit of the Newton Horace Winchell School of Earth Sciences in the University of Minnesota. The web site provides a publications list, information on ordering maps.

The Natural Resources Research Institute site houses information on programs, facilities, and upcoming events. The Center for Water and the Environment is a major component of the NRRI.

The Department of Forest Resources Remote Sensing Laboratory provides general information plus some good starting points for finding GIS information on the web. Also, the Water Resources Center has collaborated with the Remote Sensing Laboratory to create a site providing information on their research in Remote Sensing of Water Resources .

The Agroecoregions of Minnesota page provides an access point for six web pages based on main drainage areas in Minnesota, namely, the Minnesota River, the Red River, the Upper Mississippi, the Arrowhead Region, the Lower Mississippi and Southwestern Minnesota. These web pages contain land use, landscape, climatic, agricultural and water quality related information.
