National Academy of Sciences and the Global Health and Education Foundation: Safe Drinking Water Is Essential
A web site that provides information on drinking water distribution and treatment options. The information has been peer-reviewed.

National Institutes for Water Resources:
Provides access to the National Institute for Water Research home page, with information on 54 water resources centers around the country.

North American Benthological Society:
Information on the society as well as a lot of links to other (often highly specific) aquatic ecology resources.

North American Lake Management Society:
General information including info on regional chapters. Print-out membership form.

River Networks:
Group advocates river activism. Their site includes information on river related activism going on around the country, several how-to publications, descriptions of the River Network programs, and links to other similar sites.

Society of Wetland Scientists:

Water Environment Federation:

Water Quality Information Center:
One of the best sites around for data sources, general descriptive information, bibliographies, and description of nation-wide research activity.

Watershed Management Council:
Bibliographies, research summaries, an on-line newsletter, plus information on the organization.
