Water Resources Center

The Water Resources Center is affiliated with the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and University of Minnesota Extension.

Research & Public Engagement

Research

The Water Resources Center encourages research on water-related issues through facilitating, funding and coordinating research partnerships and promoting student involvement. WRC sponsors a statewide annual competitive grants program for university faculty, and conducts its own research with funding secured from outside agencies by WRC staff.

Public Engagement

WRC engages the public in a wide range of activities to protect and improve water quality in Minnesota and beyond. From providing homeowners with info about septic system maintenance, to helping farmers determine the perfect nutrient levels for their fields, to helping communities evaluate their attitudes and practices toward water-related issues, WRC leverages University expertise and organizational know-how to form vibrant community partnerships that improve Minnesota’s environment and quality of life.
