Bethany Blick received her M. S. in February, 2012. Her thesis was titled: "Knife River Stressor Identification, Kanabec County, Minnesota." Blick was advised by Bruce Vondracek.

Victoria Chraïbi
received a new Fulbright Canada-RBC Eco-Leadership grant to create bat conservation materials for northeastern Minnesota. She is partnering with the education staff of the Lake Superior Zoo and Dr. Ron Moen of UMD-NRRI to develop a teacher's lesson plan and student activity packet focusing on native bat species. They are also building bat houses with the Boy Scouts of America to put up as a zoo exhibit and also promoting geocaching family activities in Duluth. Chraïbi is advised by Euan Reavie.

Ashley Grundtner
presented "River Bank Materials as Potential Carriers and then Source of Phosphorus in Lake Pepin, MN," at the Land Grant and Sea Grant National Water Conference May 20-24, 2012 in Portland OR. Grundtner is advised by Satish Gupta.

Megan Kelly
received the Butler and Jessen Water Resources Science Fellowship for 2012. Kelly will use the 2000.00 award to fund her travel to the Gordon Research Conference: Water Sciences, and the American Chemical Society meeting, where she will present her research. Kelly is advised by William Arnold.

Jane Mazack presented "Winter Invertebrate Community Dynamics in Groundwater-fed Streams of Southeastern Minnesota," at the 2011 Soil Science Society of America Annual Meeting in Louisville, KY, May 20-24, 2012. Mazack is advised by Leonard Ferrington and Bruce Vondracek.

Patrick Sherman received his M. S. in March 2012. His thesis was titled: "Retention of Wetlands Restored from 1985 to 1995 Through Voluntary Land Retirement Programs in Agricultural Landscapes of the Midwestern United States." Sherman was advised by Susan Galatowitsch.

Erik Smith
received his Ph. D. in March 2012. His dissertation was titled: "Spatial and Temporal Variability of Preferential Flow in a Subsurface-Drained Landscape in North-Central Iowa." Smith was advised by Paul Capel.
