Midwest Strip-Tillage Expo 07 | ||
Over 500 farmers, crop consultants, ag business people, and others attended the Midwest Strip Tillage Expo on July 31 at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa. Field demonstrations of strip tillage equipment were carried out by representatives of nine manufacturers plus one farmer-built unit. Well-known area farmer-engineer Clay Mitchell demonstrated several technologies, including guidance at the tillage unit, controlled traffic, and fertilizer application combined with strip tillage. Education presentations of the day are posted on this site as pdf files available as links from the Expo schedule. The noon farmer panel of four experienced strip-till farmers from three states provided their experiences and answered questions from the full auditorium of farmers and others.
