Resources for Stormwater Management

Stormwater runoff is at the forefront of urban water resources management. This page will direct you to resources for understanding stormwater management practices (sometimes known as Best Management Practices) and for assessing their effectiveness. You may also explore the University of Minnesota's plans and activities for managing its own stormwater runoff.

Are stormwater management practices working effectively?

A project exploring how to assess stormwater BMPs

The University of Minnesota, through contract with the MPCA, is developing a protocol that will outline and explain proper methodology for the assessment of stormwater best management practices (BMPs), such as rain gardens and in-situ proprietary devices for sediment removal, through monitoring and field testing.
