Assessment of Stormwater Best Management Practices

About the Project

Developing the protocol is part of a larger project that seeks to assist municipalities by developing and explaining the rationale for a stormwater assessment protocol. The project will:

  1. Examine existing databases to understand current stormwater treatment practices in Minnesota
  2. Develop a stormwater treatment practice assessment approach for private and public entities
  3. Develop a draft assessment protocol with tools to assist in determining treatment type and assessment approach
  4. Test the protocol on selected field sites
  5. Establish collaboration among those monitoring and analyzing stormwater treatment practices
  6. Begin outreach and dialogue through workshops and public forums
