Mary Blickenderfer
Mary works primarily on developing and delivering workshops on shoreland design and landscaping, shoreland plant identification, and shoreland erosion control. Each year she coordinates installation of several shoreland demonstration and research sites. She also works with plant nurseries to develop a native shoreland plant market that will meet increasing regional demands. Her recent research has been in bioengineering, native plant propagation, and adaptations of regional plant ecotypes. Mary’s past work experience includes developing and coordinating a native plant program and conducting botanical surveys for the Hiawatha National Forest. She has also taught mathematics at Michigan Technological University and Itasca Community College. Mary holds a Ph.D. in Forest Ecology from Michigan Technological University, a M.A.T. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Earth Science both from University of Wisconsin – River Falls. | |||
