The Water Resources Research Institute Program at the University of Minnesota is part of the National Institutes of Water Resources, a network of 54 water centers operating within Land Grant Institutions nationwide. Minnesota's Water Resources Research Institute is administered through the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and is located in the Water Resources Center on the St. Paul campus. The WRC uses funding from the Water Resources Research Institute to provide grants to university researchers studying water resources problems of Minnesota and the Midwest, and summaries and final reports of these projects are available. In 2005, the WRC was one of six members of the 54 National Institutes of Water Resources identified as having an exemplary program. The merit is the result of a five-year evaluation conducted by the U.S. GEological Survey from 1998 to 2002. |
