Maria Juergens handles administrative affairs relating to the WRC and coordinates with the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and the University of Minnesota Extension. Regarding the WRC, she deals with budgets, grants, personnel, payroll, office space, and many more issues.

Maria was one four Assistants to the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) to receive the "Best DGS Assistant" award in 2004.
