Proper handling and treatment of wastewater is critical to protecting lakes, streams and groundwater from chemical and bacterial contamination. The Water Resources Center’s Onsite Sewage Treatment Program (OSTP) protects both public health and the environment through training and certification, consulting and professional development opportunities related to onsite wastewater treatment systems. The OSTP team works with wastewater professionals, realtors, community leaders and homeowners to deliver the latest in design, installation, maintenance and regulation.
Wetlands are a vital part of an ecosystems and professionals in wetland restoration are increasingly sought after for their expertise. The Water Resources Center's Wetland Delineation Certification Program (WDCP) adds reputability to the profession by formally recognizing the training that goes into wetland delineation. This five-day training course offered twice each summer, offers the fundamentals of wetland delineation and is open to all persons who have successfully completed a wetland delineation training course, or have had broad coursework or have a four-year degree and have had at least three years experience working with wetland delineations.
