Maria Juergens handles administrative affairs relating to the WRC and coordinates with the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences and the University of Minnesota Extension. She deals with many issues including budgets, grants, personnel, payroll, and office space.

Juergens was previously the Assistant to the WRS Director of Graduate Studies (DGS). In that role, she was one of four recipients to receive the "Best DGS Assistant" award in 2004.
